Q: What was the role of music in the early years of your life?
It was everything, it was my escape, my passion from the very first time my parents took me to church and I saw the band play
Q: Are you from a musical or artistic family?
My father played piano a little bit. Other than that I’m really the only one that really fell in love with music
Q: Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?
The very first artist I can remember falling in love with was Jonny Lang when I was about 4-5 years old. I remember taping his live concert that he played at Disney world and watching it over and over.
Q: How did you learn to sing/write/play?
I learned drums, guitar, bass, piano, and singing all from just watching and listening or singing karaoke. My writing just all came from life and experiences. I think I just always had the gift.
Q: What was your first music teacher like?
It was my 7th/8th grade music teacher. She was awesome. I played bass and percussion. She’d also always get mad at me when we would have tests on site reading and I would always fail because I didn’t know how to read the music. I just knew how to hear it and memorize it very quickly.
Q: What was the first instrument you learned to play?
My first instrument was the drums. My parents bought me my first drum kit when I was 4 because I kept breaking markers all over their pots and pans.
Q: What is the story behind your band/artist name?
GO! Nick GO! For me is a motivation. I wanted something that sounded like it fit with the music I play. But it’s also something I think about to motivate myself on a daily basis. I deal with a lot of anxiety and depression and it just felt right. It makes me happy and keeps me pushing through every aspect of life.
Q: What was the first concert that you ever went to?
I believe the first concert I ever went to was a Christian rock band (Third Day) when I was like 9 or 10
Q: How could you describe your music?
Emo/ pop punk/ rock. Very real, relatable lyrics. Everything comes from a real place or time in my life. None of my writing is forced. If I don’t have it that day I just put the pen or the guitar down and come back to it later. for me everything must naturally be written
Q: Describe your creative process?
Sometimes I hear a vocal melody or a guitar riff in my head while driving or at work and I’ll hum it into my phone recorder. sometimes I pick up the guitar and completely track a whole song out of nothing and write lyrics around that. Other times the lyrics just come and I structure the song around them. It’s almost always a different process. I never let anything be forced.
Q: What is your main inspiration?
In terms of bands my main inspirations would have to be All time low, Boys like girls, Paramore, and Fall out boy.
Q: What musician/artist do you admire the most?
I’ve always been a huge fan of Dave Grohl with how multitalented he is as a drummer, guitar player, vocalist, and all around front man.
Q: What is one message you would like to give to your fans?
You are not alone. Its okay to not be okay, nobodies perfect and we all struggle.
Q: How would you describe your fans?
My limited fan base I would have to say are stem from the same place of growing, positivity, and the bettering of oneself. A very positive motivating crowd
Q: Do you create for yourself or for your fans?
It always starts from inside myself, and I turn it into something that is relatable to every single person listening
Q: Do you prefer to listen to music or create it?
As much as I love to listen to music I always prefer creating it so much more
Q: Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career?
I’d say from the beginning when I first started writing to now with the music I’ve released my style has pretty stayed pretty consistent only adding some more of a pop element to my music now
Q: Who do you see as your main competitor?
State champs, Neck deep, All time low, boys like girls
Q: Would you agree that it is very important to learn, study and understand old music and
music history?
It’s always important to to learn the music that came before and to appreciate what made it so great, there’s something to appreciate about every genre in any year and creatively you never know what elements you might find that you like and want to incorporate into your own sound.

Q: . Tell me about your worst performance?
My worst performance was probably when I was a freshman in highschool we did a battle of the bands. We weren’t very skilled, didn’t comprehend what it was that made music or a band good. Things like the bassist and drummer playing as one. Understanding that sometimes less is more.. ACTUALLY PRACTICING.. it was an awful performance looking back.
Q: Do you experience stress before going on stage?
i feel the stress in preparation but once it’s time to hit the stage then I feel the most calm I think. As long as I’ve done everything in my power to prepare the best that I can there’s nothing else I need to worry about.
Q: What would you do if the audience looked bored during your performance?
Quick answer is this.. they wouldn’t be bored at my show. But in all seriousness I’d be sure to get them involved and take the energy level up as high as possible
Q: How do you energize the audience?

Wake up, write, record, and go sing karaoke. I love karaoke singing it give me experience in front of people
